Return sofa cushions: one familiar order after use

After use, sofa cushions can end up backwards or in the wrong section of the sofa. A simple familiar order makes returning them concrete. Choose only loose cushions the child can handle easily. Fixed sofa parts and cushions requiring help follow the adult's handling. Today's job concerns placement, rather than moving furniture or cleaning covers.
Show the arrangement once
An adult demonstrates where the selected cushions belong. Seat cushions may have different shapes, while decorative cushions may have familiar homes at each end. Use shape, colour or an existing recognisable feature; there is no need to add labels to the covers.
Identify which cushions are actually out of place. A cushion still used in an agreed project is not taken without clarification. Gather today's loose cushions near the sofa without putting them on a dirty surface.
Return the larger agreed cushions first
Put the easily handled seat cushion in its demonstrated home. Straighten an edge tucked underneath without pulling its zip or decoration. Let the cushion follow the sofa's known shape instead of forcing it into the wrong gap.
