Kroni

Brili alternative for kids' routines: Kroni compared

Brili's children's app has no App Store or Google Play listing anymore. Kroni offers step-by-step chores, a countdown and read aloud for kids.

Updated November 2, 2026. We make Kroni. On November 2, 2026, we found no listing for Brili's children's app, Brili Routines – Visual Timer, on the App Store or on Google Play. Brili's website now presents its current app, Brili Routines – Habit Tracker, as an app for adults. If your family used Brili for your child's routines, this page shows what Kroni can take over and what it can't. We have not tested Brili ourselves.

What Brili's children's app did

Brili's own page on how its apps work still describes the children's app:

  • Parents set up routines with a start time, days of the week and a duration, from their own tasks or a library of ready-made ones.
  • Each task and routine had a star value as a reward.
  • The child swiped through tasks as they were done, could postpone one, and got sound and visual cues for what was next and how much time was left.

Sources: Brili's website and how Brili works, plus the App Store and Google Play, checked on November 2, 2026. This table compares what each app says about itself, not how well either works. Kroni is in English, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.

How Kroni works

  • One chore at a time. Focus mode shows your child a single chore with up to eight short steps you write. They tick the steps off one at a time. If they get stuck, there is an I need help button: within the help hours you have chosen, Kroni sends you a notification, for up to three chores a day, and otherwise your child is told to go and ask a grown-up.
  • A countdown they can see. Give a chore a countdown from 1 to 120 minutes. When time is up, Kroni asks how it's going, and nothing is taken away.
  • Read aloud. Turn it on for a child, and a speaker button reads the chore, its steps and the rewards in the voice built into their device.
  • A time of day. Morning chores show first, then midday and evening. With Only what is due now, your child sees only the chores for this time of day.
  • Rewards you decide. Stars or points work as well as dollars. A timed reward, like "one episode", gets a countdown from 5 minutes to 8 hours.
  • A day off. Skip one chore today, or give your child a day off planned up to 60 days ahead. Nothing counts as missed.
  • One screen for the family. Kids who share a phone or tablet get an overview of how many chores each has left, see a digital chore chart on the family tablet.

The free plan covers one child and five active chores. New families with one child get 14 days of Kroni Family free, with no card.

What Kroni does differently

  • No clock for the whole routine. The countdown belongs to one chore, not to a whole morning.
  • Allowance, if you want it. Kroni can schedule a fixed allowance and paid extra jobs as well as unpaid chores. It never moves real money.

Routines for kids with ADHD or autism

Brili presented its children's app as an app for children with ADHD. Kroni is not a treatment, and we make no promises about symptoms. Which Kroni features can make a routine easier to follow is in routines for kids with ADHD or autism.

Moving a Brili routine to Kroni

  1. Pick one routine your child knew well in Brili, such as getting ready for school.
  2. Make each part a step. A step is one action, like "Brush your teeth". Up to eight per chore.
  3. Give it a time of day so it shows first in the morning.
  4. Set a generous countdown, or leave it out. It is an estimate, not a deadline.
  5. Agree on the reward together, or keep the chore unpaid.
